Note from our founder: I am thrilled to announce our first collaboration piece of jewelry with the incredibly talented Maya Brenner. As I continue my healing journey, one thing that has empowered me is the act of getting dressed. On days when I didn’t feel like dressing up, I leaned on wearing jewelry. Whether it was a piece I purchased for myself, a family heirloom, or something that reminded me of my daughters, jewelry became deeply personal. No matter my mood, it always served as an instant boost. A special piece can evoke memories, transform your mood, and remind you of someone or someplace you love.

I first met Maya several years ago at an event, where I was introduced to her beautiful pieces. It was then that I purchased my first piece—her signature asymmetrical letter necklace, adorned with my daughters' initials and their birthstones. From that moment, her artistry resonated deeply with me.

There are so many reasons why I chose Maya for this special project. Her designs tell stories, and storytelling is at the core of what I value most. Each of her pieces is simple yet meaningful, embodying personal connections and cherished memories. Maya’s commitment to supporting women and celebrating their unique journeys aligns perfectly with the mission of The Fondle Project. The Fondle Necklace represents self-love, reminding women to prioritize their health and perform regular self-exams. It is a powerful symbol of empowerment and awareness, encouraging women to cherish themselves and take proactive steps for their well-being.

Be Fond of Who You Are.

50% of proceeds will go directly toward supporting The Fondle Project. Our mission for 2025 is to educate and empower women about breast health, helping those with a breast cancer diagnosis feel seen, heard, and supported through powerful storytelling and holistic wellness initiatives.

The Fondle Necklace makes the perfect gift for your bestie, mother, sister, wife, girlfriend, or a "breastie" on this journey. Together, let’s #StyleWithAPurpose and make a difference together.

The Fondle Five with Maya Brenner

How do you approach creating jewelry that resonates with both style and deeper meaning?
I create pieces that resonate with my personal tastes and needs. I usually design jewelry based on what I want to wear or what is missing in my own jewelry wardrobe, making each piece personal and meaningful. For example, I created the letter necklace after having children and made beaded pieces for my tropical vacations. Sometimes, I even design specific necklaces to complement what I’m wearing. Another example is that right now I’m wearing the Paris earrings. I designed a whole collection after visiting France with my son. So, I keep it stylish, fresh, and fun by designing what I want to wear.

How do you hope the collaboration with The Fondle Project will impact or inspire women in their personal journey?
When I first met Gina, I found her to be dynamic and inspiring, and we had one of those instant connections. I’ve been following her breast cancer and advocacy journey, so when she asked me to get involved and design a necklace with her, I immediately said yes. The necklace combines Gina’s passion for advocacy with my goal of designing something super impactful and stylish! We hope the necklace is a conversation starter and serves as a reminder for women to prioritize their health and “fondle.”

Where is your favorite vacation spot, and how does it inspire or rejuvenate you?
My absolute favorite vacation spot is Paris, France, as I mentioned previously. But my family also has a cabin in Big Bear, which is in the mountains outside of Los Angeles, and I love going there. We can be in nature with fresh air, experience snow in the winter, and enjoy lake life in the summer. My kids absolutely love it. We try to go as much as possible because it really rejuvenates me and allows me to unwind and take a break from the busy life we live.

As a female leader in the fashion industry, what advice would you give to women aspiring to start their own businesses?
I started my business 25 years ago and had no formal business experience but was driven by my passion for jewelry. That kept me going for a few years until it became obvious that I needed to hire competent people in areas like accounting and logistics. I am a creative designer type, and my brain has a hard time computing some of the more logistical aspects of running a business. So, I would say try to hire smart people for roles outside of your expertise.

Also, I want to emphasize the importance of authenticity and organic growth. I never had external investors and always grew my business at a sustainable pace based on sales or what my credit cards could handle. This approach has worked out well for me, as I’m still here 25 years later!

What has been the most rewarding aspect of building your brand as a female entrepreneur? The most rewarding part for me has really been community—my amazing and talented team at MB, our awesome customers. My best friend from high school runs my business with me. I love doing collaborations, like this one with Gina. It's really inspiring to be around creative and smart women all the time. And I am still obsessed with jewelry after all this time, so that helps too!
